ABOUT THE SCHOLARSHIP

The Olive Frame Scholarship was created in honour of one of Canada’s most respected and influential gemmology and jewellery instructors, Olive Frame.

The scholarship was launched in 2017 by the GIA Alumni Ontario Chapter to help gemmological and jewellery students across the province of Ontario reach their educational aspirations.

We promote knowledge and trust within the industry and believe that by assisting students with access to a GIA education, they are empowered with a mark of global distinction.

Olive Frame

With a teaching career spanning over 35 years in the gem and jewellery industry, Olive Frame left a lasting impact on the Canadian industry and many of her students.

A GIA Graduate Gemologist and CJA Graduate Jeweller, she was a registered instructor with the Canadian Jewellers Association and conducted their training programs for jewellery sales personnel across Canada. Olive taught the CJA Jets Course to the Toronto staff of Tiffany & Co. over a 10 year period and has travelled extensively and taught gemology as far afield as Nassau, Bahamas.

She was a passionate advocate for gemmological education and shared her knowledge through the many articles and lectures delivered throughout her career.
